New Gig, New Digs

Well, I have a few things to share with you, readers. The first and most important is that my birthday is rapidly approaching. I'd love for you to bestow your love, attention, goddesses, and requests for interviews upon me on this day, and I'd rather not have to pull a Charlie Sheen to get them. You have time to plan, of course, as the big day is next Wednesday. Let me know if you need my shipping address. (Please, no live animals.)

ALSO!

I started a new writing gig that I am super excited to share with you. Tuesday was my first post over at MamaPop!

::deafening cheers::

Look! Here's a picture from that post!

::the crowd grows silent::

In fact, I have another one up today, if you're so inclined. (No alien birth photos this time 'round.) And you can pretty much find me over there every Tuesday and Thursday morning talking trash and garbage and alien babies that are pulled forth from Lady Gaga's loins.

(And really, it's a wonder I'm actually still even employed over there. Why? Well, because in true Wait in the Van fashion, I've managed to offend every single member of the group in one fell swoop. Did you know that if you try to type ROCKSTARS, but mess up a letter or eleven, your iPhone MAY POSSIBLY correct that word into the term, TICKSEEDS?!

Reply All:  I love working with you TICKSEEDS!

::proofreads after the fact::

::face goes white::

::omfg::

Note: calling your new friends and family a bunch of TICKSEEDS is not advised. I'm lucky this is a humorous, loving bunch, I tell you. It might help that "tickseeds" are actually beautiful, lovely flowers and not like bug larvae like the name suggests. The more you know!)

And FINALLY!  I'm working with an *amazing* designer over at Ritzy Design Studio to come up with a snazzy new look for the blog. Looks like we may have something this month, so brace yourselves for an overhaul of tremendous proportions (kind of). And get all that BUT I LIKE THIS DESIGN BEEEESSSST out of your systems now, because I will pull out the shock collar if necessary.

  1. My motto has always been "When you start something off with a majestic beast surrounded by a neon purple triangle, you've got nowhere to go but down." Thank you, Lady Gaga for validating my feelings.
    Congrats on the new gig, I will definitely be reading! Now please excuse me, I must go cleanse my soul in holy water.

  4. Wow. I thought TICKSEEDS got "corrected" to DICKHEADS. Maybe that's what set them off.

  9. You're the seed to my tick.

    I watched that video at work, and was deeply disturbed. I.. I can't talk about it. The pulling of the aliens out of the vag.. the evil.. the blue eye shadow..

  12. Gratz on spreading your awesomeness across the internets! Can't wait to see the new digs - either way, alien births and dinosaur pics should still remain a staple here.

  15. Two people have pointed me in your direction (the Empress and Erin from I'm Gonna Kill Him) - and I'm not disappointed. I hope I can prove myself to be a worthy Tickseed. I've sent you grain alcohol and nachos in the mail. Happy Birthday.
